are you available for travel for wedding and portraiture sessions?
- absolutely! i love to travel and i do it often! i like meeting and exploring new cities with new people.
on average, how many weddings do you book a year?
- i book up to 35 weddings a year. this gives me more time to focus on you and to make sure you're taken care of.
i hear that a lot of photographers give a disc of all images from the wedding, do you do that?
- all complete wedding packages include a high resolution disc of the final edited images and are delivered with the wedding album. the images are selected and edited at the photographer's discretion to ensure that all images delivered are at the highest, professional quality.
how many pictures do you take per wedding?
- lots!! generally 30gig is processed during your wedding. to say the least, your wedding will be well documented.
what is the turn around to receive my prints and album?
- print orders are received through a first-come, first-serve process. allowing for editing, printing, and delivery time you will receive your order within two weeks from placing your order. because albums are individually designed by me, the total process from concept to finished product takes roughly eight weeks.
what kind of equipment do you use?
- i use the best, nikon digital and nikon film. the majority of your wedding is documented digitally, the remaining is documented in that film, grainy deliciousness. upon request i can document your entire wedding in film.
what do I need to do to book j.frey photography for my wedding, and how much is the investment?
- first, contact me and let's begin discussing what you're looking for! from there a 50% deposit along with your contract is required to reserve your wedding date with j.frey photography. local wedding coverage begins at $2400. if you would like your entire wedding documented in film, coverage starts at $3700. local portraiture sessions begin at $300. your wedding is not a day to just pick anyone to snap photos, grandma does that already. you are investing in someone to document and represent one of the most important days of your lives. click here to see current pricing

what's included in a portraiture session?
- up to 90 minutes of picture making bliss within a 30 mile radius of indianapolis, indiana. if you have a special place where you'd like to take pictures, let's take pictures there! but don't worry if you don't have any place in mind, i have plenty of suggestions and great ideas for pictures. your personal, online gallery will be available within 3-5 weeks after our session together. all prints and digital files, unless otherwise stated, are available รก la carte. local portraiture sessions begin at $300. 50% of the session price is due at the time of scheduling and the remaining 50% due on the date of the session.
what should i wear?
- engagement session: unless you wear matching christmas turtlenecks and christmas antlers on a daily basis, i would suggest not wearing matching clothes. it's very normal for couples to bring two sets of clothes. one is a little sassy while the other remains on the casual side. wear the clothes that represent who you are. please, avoid wearing all white or all black.
- families: color coordination is perfectly fine, but again i would urge you to wear clothes that represent you as you are. please, avoid wearing all white or all black.
what about bad weather, what do we do then?
- if it's really nasty out, i.e., nonstop, heavy rains, we will reschedule. be prepared, however, to continue with our scheduled engagement or portraiture session if there is a light mist. if it begins to rain during our session, we'll go hang out until it subsides and then get right back to making wonderful and beautiful pictures!
