q & a

so, what kind of camera do you use?
- is use a variety of nikon professional gear. see below 'what do you got?' for more details.

do you use off camera lighting?
- i do.  umbrellas, flashes, softboxes.  but i love the look of natural light; the sun just seems to give the most flattering look.

what about editing software?
- i am an adobe junkie.  i use photoshop and lightroom daily, hourly, minute to minute; they're part of the fam now.  yet, i've also been known to
frequently use gimp. if you're looking for some great software, gimp is free and offers many of the same tools as photoshop.
follow up: do you use any presets or actions for lightroom/photoshop?
- yep, the one's i've personally developed.  i've never bought any presets or actions.  my advice: be original.

i'm new to photography, any basic tips?
- i'm always eager to promote this
highly acclaimed photography program: take-a-camera-everywhere-you-gomake your camera your new best friend.  take it everywhere, doing this allows you to know the ins and outs of your camera.

how did you get into photography?
- i picked up a camera my senior year in college and dropped all plans for graduate school.  so much for my history degree!!  but i wouldn't want to be doing anything else.

can i join you on a shoot?
- absolutely!  just drop me a line letting me know that you'd like to join me.
