today is a beautiful day.  FALL, FALL, FALL.  for me, fall is ultra bittersweet.  the colors, the smells, the air, the bonfires, the flannel, the cider...ah, that's what i love.  but as soon as all the leaves have fallen, well i guess it's not fall anymore, but fallen (a.k.a., pre-winter).  then it's just ugly until it snows!  hopefully i can attach a fall foto to keep y'all and me going until it all ends...i'll have to look.

Jon and Mallory caught a beautiful day in fall.  vivacious vibrant colors.  it was simply pleasant to walk around Broad Ripple and enjoy the outside with them.
J & M were terrific and the fotos show for it.

i had the privilege of going to school with Josh and Bethany at grove city college.  Josh was in my housing group (Rho Rho Rho), which is like a fraternity but it's not -- ah, just don't think too hard about it.  so what this means is i understand Josh's peculiarly funny ways (he's probably wondering -- "what peculiar ways?").  like your little in-place dances and crazy looks of bewilderment.  furthermore, Josh is an incredibly talented writer, i mean incredibly talented.  Bethany is simply darling, hailing from Tennessee, the state i should have been born in.  she's the real deal: genuine.  and she can play the piano.  anyway, these two are cute.  not to mention they are great sports.  it rained about 90% of their engagement session.  but we all decided to continue with the fotos despite the bad weather.  and i think they turned out beautifully thanks to Josh and Bethany!  i'm very excited about their wedding...  you two are keepers in my book.

just wanted to share quick few before i post some more from the homecoming activities.

i thoroughly enjoyed hanging out with Courtney and Drew.  we had originally planned on taking half of the pictures downtown and then for the other half we were going to go to the indiana state fair for some flavorful fotos.  but time was against us and i'm actually very glad we didn't end up going to the fair.  many of these photos are some of my all time favoirtes.  Drew and Courtney were so natural in front of the camera and wanted to try all of my stunts -- that's an immediate gold star in my book.  love, love, love.  you two are quite the find.  your love is so tender and dear for each other.  thanks for letting me capture some of it.  and thanks for good conversation and music exchange.  Drew, be sure to try out Beirut; you can't go wrong with his album Gulag Orkestar.

so, guess what?  i'm taking my first road trip to the west coast.  this will actually be my first time out in california.  my brother is moving to san diego.  i am going to do him a huge favor (a HUGE favor -- remember that, Jordan, when the time comes for my birthday!); i am driving his car out there.  i leave august 31st and return september 8th.  i'll have my laptop with me and will be doing my very best to answer e-mails, but if i don't please forgive me, it's only because i'm out of touch and not because i don't like you :)
