here is an absolutely adorable girl, Callie.  happy and cheerful.  it didn't matter much what we did, because she remained just as happy.  simply adorable.  and the affection between Kendra (mom) and Callie was just what it was - an inseparable connection of mother and daughter.  to top it off, Callie turned one year old at the end of august.  so wish her a happy birthday!  well, i guess now it would be a little belated -- but do it anyway :)  here are a few of her and mom.

a few pictures from utah.  the truck(s) and roller-skate were found behind a dilapidated motel.  the mountains were right across from this great(?) little town at sunrise the next day.

so come monday morning i'll be heading out toward the pacific -- that's saying a lot for a good ole indiana boy who's never been to the west coast. i'll be making pictures all week.

because i'll be gone for a week i wanted to do a quick post to 1) tie you over until i put up longer posts and 2) to not go without a post for over a week!

my niece Sadie turned one year old TODAY!!  HAPPY BIRTHDAY SADIE!!  it's hard to believe that this little gal is already walking and saying my name -- JJ.  my sister lives up in grand rapids but came down for a b-day party for miss Sadie a few weeks ago.  this, of course, meant i would be the photographer of said b-day party.  some might fear such a responsibility of documenting one year olds in their natural habitat, i.e., running around half naked, eating devouring cake, fat rolls, screaming their heads off because of the amount of sugar my sis...their parents gave them.  not me, ha, i embrace the position! 
my sister also asked me to take Sadie's one year old pictures.  this was a privilege and a blessing.  Sadie is by far the happiest baby i know.  she always has this big (toothless) grin on her face that causes me to have just smile back.  okay, enough talking.  Sadie Michael, Ella (the older sister), and Ella's friends...
