now here's a wonderful couple, Kirk and Laura, that i met a year and a half ago. they are super special and super sweet (Kirk even said he liked my mustache). the wedding was just so relaxed and a joy to document. their ceremony was at Christ's Church Cathedral on the circle, it's a very beautiful to say the least. then we boogied on down at the Mavris, or they boogied and i made fotos (okay, okay, i boogied a little). i'm super excited about these fotos. a bunch of them are digital, but a good amount is film. congratulations, K & L!! i'm glad were friends! have a good ole time in el Mexico! moved this month. i've been so concerned lately with what to fill it with (which in and of itself is not a bad thing). and why? if anyone knows me, i'm all about minimalism. so, really it'd be a lot easier to just sit on the floor with pillows and rugs (something that worked for me in college). the american dream to me is just overrated. there is a beautiful hymn that is very apropos to my life at hand, it reads:
Father, I know that all my life
Is portioned out for me;
The changes that are sure to come,
I do not fear to see:
I ask thee for a present mind,
Intent on pleasing thee.

What made me even think of this hymn was the line, "Content to fill a little space, If thou be glorified." Without Christ, all there is is stuff with which to just fill our lives. And more stuff and more stuff and more stuff. Like the writer of Ecclesiastes, he understands that a life of seeking self, or one that does not seek Christ is to no eternal profit: "Thus I considered all my activities which my hands had done and the labor which I had exerted, and behold all was vanity and striving after wind and there was no profit under the sun" (Ecc. 2:11). Or as in the Gospel of Matthew (8:36), Christ says, ""For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul?" But this is not to say things in this life are bad. It's that you just don't want to make your life all about "stuff".

Zach is a very funny senior at Zionsville HS. we had a blast walking around downtown making some fantastic fotos. Zach witnessed that day my first encounter of being scolded for standing on "private property." hey lady, we were only standing on the curb - it's not like we were gallivanting through your barn (yet). anyway, we carried on with the picture making process and created the following.
