i had the opportunity/privilege of being behind the scenes of a BDPPhoto shoot for Derek and Lindsay's e-session.  i hardly second shoot, so this was uber amounts of fun watching other people work and at the same time making some candid fotos of the couple and of Ben working.  i loved every second of it.  you'll want to check out Ben's fotos he made of the e-session, when ever he decides to update his blog (for once!!!!).

That walking shoes picture takes the cake. I'm glad you could come along! They will love these too.

thank you, veterans.  thank you to those who are still serving.  thank you.

for those who missed the parade yesterday, Ben Poenisch (see last foto) and myself went downtown and tried to capture a bit of the essence of veterans day.  i ran into a family from my church while there and they had made signs that expressed a variety of grateful words to the veterans.  veterans were very appreciative of the signs as well as us just saying to them "thank you".  don't wait until next year to tell a veteran or anyone serving the country thank you.  do it now.  do it tomorrow. and don't just say thanks, but pray for them.  get involved somehow.  if you don't know someone serving find someone who is and take the time to write a simple letter to them.  they'll love, i guarantee it!  well, enjoy the pictures and the freedom!

oh my.  what a beautiful day when we made these fotos.  a gorgeous november day.   this was the same day/night i saw live Cameron Carpenter, a very talented, eccentric organist (see his sparkly clothes).  he was incredible.  actually incredible is not a big enough word.

well, meet Alexis.  beautiful.  really beautiful.  she needed just a few head-shots for her model comp card.  i think we accomplished a little more than just some head-shots...

for the wonderers: used one lens (50mm) the entire time with only natural light.  use what you like, but be sure to stretch yourself every time you pick up the camera, every time.

what do you think?

i met these guys through my aunt!  and i thought for the longest time that Jason Chapel, the lead singer, was my aunt's nephew on the other side of the family.  NOPE.  i was wrong.  he went to high school with my cousin, so who can blame me.

Take the Sky is a progressive rock band based out of indianapolis.  they definitely rock (pun intended). check out their music, especially if you're from indianapolis -- because they're local to you, you who are into music and live in indianapolis.  they have shows coming up all throughout november.

we had a great time together just talking, hanging out, and me standing way too close to edges of very high edifices.  my job wouldn't be fun and unpredictable if i didn't almost die every shoot, right?  well, then i guess it would be predictable: "ah, well, he was pretty close to the edge.  poor guy."  maybe i'll wear a harness from now on.

p.s. for those who stalk follow me on twitter/facebook, this is the shoot where a creepy woman stared at me off and on for about an hour total.  foto 1 of woman  foto 2 of woman
